In response to a previous blogger, I'm an anglo. Your accusation of anglos voting for Pedroza is interesting. Why would anyone want to vote for a proven fraud who has stolen from the city. The anglos that I know were just as discusted with the election results as you were.

What is worse though, is your insistance that this city should be divided by race. It's pathetic that our community has to remain divided and disfunctional.

I have to ask the never ending question of why can't we live togeather as a community after all we are all citizens of Lynwood and what is good for one is good for all. Don't you agree?

Let's face it Brown, Black, Yellow, Red or White we all want a safe, crime free city that is clean, thriving and provides a great enviornment for our families.

Maybe we could improve our city council by working togeather and build some agreement as to whom we want to represent and work for all of us, not just the individual races or worse for themselves and their own bank account! Maybe then we can get rid of the Pedroza's, Bird's, Vasquezes and their like and hire people who know that they were elected as a public servant not a self servant.

Sound Good! Well start here on the blog by jumping off the race train, it's old and doesn't work!

Regardless of the opinion of the limited individuals that view this site, the people have spoken and it is now time to take back City Hall and the City. Change is now the calling card to direct Lynwood in the right direction. For starters

1.the current City Atorney Arnoldo "Fat Cat" Beltran has his paw in everything and is over billing the City. Also he pushed the casa grande illegal hearing to approve the agreement for Bill Martinez without the required environmental findings. Redevelopment law violation. A new Attorney is in order and this will not cost the City any money.
2.The casa grande project needs to be brought back for reconsideration and canncellation and an RFP needs to be issued to get a Developer that will pay the right price for the land and save the city millions of dollars. Not to mention that the project was approved illegally without the required environmental findings and in violation of the Brown Act.
3. City Hall needs to be taken back. Things are out of control. The City is paying over $10,000 per month for a part time Redevelopment Director who is never there. People are being brought to Lynwood with prior ties to Pasadena. The new majority needs to stop this and stop this now.
4. The Council needs to look at the administration structure. It is top heavy (Too many Managers)recruitment for a new City Manager may be inevitable. People say we have a good City Manager but where has he been on the bad projects
*Selac
*Murial Estates
*Casa Grande
*Plaza Mexico
*Budget to reduce wasted spending
Where are the recommendations, He has been playing politics. Back to the same old story.

You are right about many things except for a few. Casa Grande was done right. Their problem is that they pissed of Richards before he was recalled. Therefore Leticia and Byrd will always stall that project. Casa Grande didn't want to pay to play. That's their only crime. Beltran gives a detailed billing report for his services. That means if he was charging for unnecesary services the city would be able to dispute them. The city is being sued left in right because our council members don't listen to him. As many idiot mistakes as our council does, I'm sure he has plebty of work. However, Ron Wilson just submits a bill with no details. But that's okay bacause Leticia and Byrd like him. ( I'm being sarcastic ) Wilson should be explaining his services as well. He is the redevelopement attorney, not Beltran. It's his job to make sure everything is legal. Yet he pushed Whispering Glenn's project with out the 14 day publishing period. Aide Castro tried showing the community and everyone ignored her. She went around carrying all 3 of the DDA's with the city clerks stamp on it. The council just prtended it never happened. The city manager is good, and he has to play politics to do his little bit of good. Plaza Mexico is a wonderfull project that is bringing positive recognition to our city. All we need is a strong redevelopement director to make sure the project is done right. Someone needs to say to Donald no more until you finish what you started. But we need to be supportive of his vision. Do your homework people, don't just talk. We need to join forces and see past our personal issues.

Casa Grande did pay to play... and heavy. Check out financial statements for Urban Pac. Mr. Billie Martinez invested thousands !!! I wonder why???

Pay and play indeed. Billie laughed his ass after he got Maria and Ramon to side with his dirty casa grande project and then funneled all kinds of money for hit pieces on behalf of Aide Castro aganist maria, alfreddie, and ramon. We keep telling you all about the environmetal for this project, it was ignored and some people just do not want to understand or accept it because of the dollars that were spent in the elections. See for yourselves. Go the the City Clerks office and ask to see all the resolutions that were approved especially the two required environmental resolutions for casa grande. Guess what, the environmental resolutions will not be there because they do not exist because this requirement was intentionally ignored and pushed by pedroza, ramon and santillan. The environmental resolutions were not on the agenda when the city approved the dda for casa grande as required by law. Only two resolutions were approved instead of the required four. Hell even the item for selac where the city just stalled the project again had the required four resolutions. Whispering Glen also had the required four resolutions. Lets get past the greed and see thing for what they really are.

The Casa GRande project is badly needed in the abandoned part of Lynwood...you talk about contamination, I guess those of you against this project have not walked around this blighted zone and stepped on infected sirenges, used condoms, liquor bottles and even a boat used for doing drugs and prostitution. CLEAN UP THIS MESS AND BRING THOSE NEEDED HOMES, THIS IS THE DOOR TO LYNWOOD AND ALAMEDA AND IMPERIAL DESERVES THE SAME ATTENTION THAT OTHER PARTS OF LYNWOOD HAVE.

RESIDENT OF ABANDONED AREA OF LYNWOOD

WE have walked it many times and agree this has been blighted for decades and needs attention. We have a chance to do it right with a project that makes more sense and does not cost the city millions. Contamination is not the issue here, that will get clean-up in due time. What is at issue is the environmetnal impact that was ignored and the millions being given away when they did have to be given away.

shut up Leticia. you margeret and irene are the only ones who don't want this project. I checked the urban pac and martinez did spend money but it was in covina. kudler was the one who hit in lynwood. like always you tell the story to your convenience.

Billie Martinez spend monet in West covina not covina. He and kudler also spent a bunch in Lynwood. Quit kidding yourself ask the Redevelopment dept. why only two resolutions were approved for Bill Martinez Casa Grande project. You are all just playing dumb and looking the other way because you must have something to gain. It doesn't matter who does the project so long as it is done right and is the best possible deal for the city. In todays housing market the City should not have to pay millions to get housing. Even that dummy Aide knows this and since she was made promises she has acted ignorant, better yet talking out of both sides of her big mouth on this project. I think even Maria is starting to see now how the dda for Casa grande was illegaly approved and that the Casa grande project is not the best deal for the City. maria is starting to wake up.

I was amazed by the election results in Lynwood. To the voters of Lynwood all I can say turn the novelas off and educate yourselfs.
Que Verguenza ! To the elected officials we are all watching you. There is plenty of room where Paul Richards and Albert Robles are going to be housed for a long time.

I'm not amazed, I think YOU are the one with the problem.

We agree the Casa Grande project needs to be reconsidered. Mayor Vaquez this should be one of your first duies as Mayor, correct an ill advised project and pursue a project that meets the needs of the people. We believe housing should probably go there at that location however a better deal structure is cetainly in order. We should no have to pay for the Developer to get a good deal, especially if another developer is paying twice as much for property in Lynwood. Are we all to stupid to see this, carry on.
