Yes I’m proud to say I’m an immigrant I’m not gonna let people bring me down with words If crossing the border didn’t stop me, What makes you think your words Are gonna stop me now?!
Two months of risking my life Taught me life is not just pretty colors But it has its dark sides I was only seven when I was forced to Cross the border
Yes, I’m proud of being an immigrant Wore the same clothes for two months Slept on top of rocks and Used garbage bags as blankets As an immigrant I’m proud I’m not ashamed Suffocation was going to be the main cause of my death Yes, I’m proud
I was forced into a truck that was full of people And no room for people to breath Minutes went by hours had passed and I was ready To hit the floor and never get up
Now you tell me I can’t make it Because I’m not light enough Because my hair ain’t blond enough Because I’m not a citizen Well I’m a resident and That’s enough to get me through Yes, I’m proud of my roots And if my roots represent immigration Then I’m proud
You can’t believe English was my second language Now that shows you how hard I worked to gain that respect I’m gonna say it loud and proud Till my voice is gone I’m an immigrant Yes, I’m an immigrant
I was a living ghost Walking the streets of California For the United States I never existed Until seven years ago Now I’m sixteen years old And working hard on becoming a U.S. Citizen But never forgetting about my roots
Good for you! Very few people have the guts to say what you said. There are manny like you but don't say it because thay believed the might get rejected but what counts is what you feel inside and you show pride and that makes you strong more then what any body can imagine.

Yes I’m proud to say I’m an immigrant
I’m not gonna let people bring me down with words
If crossing the border didn’t stop me,
What makes you think your words
Are gonna stop me now?!
Two months of risking my life
Taught me life is not just pretty colors
But it has its dark sides
I was only seven when I was forced to
Cross the border
Yes, I’m proud of being an immigrant
Wore the same clothes for two months
Slept on top of rocks and
Used garbage bags as blankets
As an immigrant I’m proud
I’m not ashamed
Suffocation was going to be the main cause of my death
Yes, I’m proud
I was forced into a truck that was full of people
And no room for people to breath
Minutes went by hours had passed and I was ready
To hit the floor and never get up
Now you tell me I can’t make it
Because I’m not light enough
Because my hair ain’t blond enough
Because I’m not a citizen
Well I’m a resident and
That’s enough to get me through
Yes, I’m proud of my roots
And if my roots represent immigration
Then I’m proud
You can’t believe English was my second language
Now that shows you how hard I worked to gain that respect
I’m gonna say it loud and proud
Till my voice is gone
I’m an immigrant
Yes, I’m an immigrant
I was a living ghost
Walking the streets of California
For the United States I never existed
Until seven years ago
Now I’m sixteen years old
And working hard on becoming a U.S. Citizen
But never forgetting about my roots
Denise,
Good for you!
Very few people have the guts to say what you said.
There are manny like you but don't say it because thay believed the might get rejected but what counts is what you feel inside and you show pride and that makes you strong more then what any body can imagine.
Felicidades!!
