Dear Pat Gunning - Lynwood Resident,

Thank you for visiting our blog and posting your question. The idea of using a website to provide residents with information about our local government was born from the concept developed by our partners WatchOurCity.com, which was founded in the City of Huntington Park, California. LynwoodWatch is non-partisan and advocates to bring the public with information about our city.

The information posted in this blog and in our website is available at the City Clerk's Office of the City of Lynwood. Other information we post has been made available elsewhere, we basically gather the information and lead you to the original source. We are not journalists, we are just concerned residents and we are aware of our limitations. We present facts, and let our readers judge the information. Everyone is encouraged to post their comments. LynwoodWatch does not have any control over people's comments, but we try to keep them free from offensive language as much as possible.

As posted before, LynwoodWatch is not affiliated with the Lynwood News newspaper, but we encourage them to continue watching our city as long as they remain non-partisan and as long as they do not support the candidacy of any candidate or elected official. As our partners from WatchourCity.com have said “above all CNN reporters go by a saying: "if you care who wins, you don't belong here"”. We did notice that the newspaper was mailed to registered voters, LynwoodWatch prefers to reach everyone: registered or not registered to vote!

We are a group of Compton residents. We have elections in our City. I live in District 3. One of the candiates is Evarsito Garcia. Evarsito Garcia says he is supported and endorsed by Lynwood City Council. Evarsito Garcia says he works for the Federal Governemnt, and that he helped convict Omar Bradley. He says he is working with DA and FBi in Lynwood. He also says he is a representative of Yvonne Burke. He also says he's a representative of the mexican embassy. Evarsito Garcia also says he represents mexican president Vicente Fox. Do you Lynwood Watch know if this is True?

Dear "Group of Compton Residents",

Thank you for visiting our blog! Lynwood Watch focuses primarily in Lynwood, and at this point, we don't "watch" Compton. If you want to start a watchdog site, we'll be glad to help you. You may also contact our partners WatchOurCity.com, or SaveCommerce.org. Both are excellent sources of information, and you can get ideas on how to start your own website!

We haven't been following the Compton elections closely at this point, so we don't have a lot of information. However, we did inquire about some of the points you mention. Our findings are right below your question. We hope the information is useful.

1) Evarsito Garcia says he is supported and endorsed by Lynwood City Council.

Answer: Our guess is that not all councilmembers support or endorse Evarsito Garcia, but contact the Lynwood councilmembers and ask them!

City Manager's Office
(310) 603-0220 Ext. 200

2) Evarsito Garcia says he works for the Federal Governemnt, and that he helped convict Omar Bradley.

Answer: This is very unlikely. But to make sure, you may contact the Federal Bureau of Investigations to find out:

FBI Los Angeles
Suite 1700, FOB
11000 Wilshire Boulevard
Los Angeles, California 90024-3672
losangeles.fbi.gov
(310) 477-6565

3) He says he is working with DA and FBi in Lynwood.

This is also very unlikely, but call the FBI, or the District Attorney's Office at:

Compton Branch Office
200 West Compton Blvd., Rm. 700
Compton, Ca. 90220
Phone 310-603-7483
Fax 310-603-0493

4) He also says he is a representative of Yvonne Burke.
Lynwood Watch called the office of Yvonne Burke, and they deny that Mr. Garcia is a representative. You may contact her office at:

Hall of Administration
500 W. Temple St Room 866
Los Angeles, CA 90012
(213) 974-2222
seconddistrict@bos.co.la.ca.us

5) He also says he's a representative of the mexican embassy.

Evarsito Garcia also says he represents mexican president Vicente Fox.

Lynwood Watch called the Los Angeles Mexican Consulate, and they deny that Mr. Garcia is a Consulate representative, and "he DOES NOT represent Mexican President Vicente Fox".

You may contact them at:

CONSULMEX LOS ANGELES
2401 W. 6TH ST.
LOS ANGELES CA 90057
USA
Telephone: 213-351-6800

6) Do you Lynwood Watch know if this is True?
We don't know for sure. But you can find out! Call the offices provided above and find out, and please share your findings with us!
