No it does not! It amazes me how so many residents use this blog to say absolutely nothing! You can keep your BLAH BLAH to yourself! Did you read the article? Did you hear the comments from the school board? Rachel Chavez has sat on that school board far to long and proven over and over that she is an idiot! How can you compare the district purchasing land that is free and clear, with having to complete the entire process that it takes to buy occupied land. I have followed the Agendas every meeting and I have seen what the City has had to go through to rebuild their park. Nobody heard Rachel complaining when Paul Richards was willing to deal with the board to sell them the park. EVERYONE, inculding Rachel could see the dollar signs in Mr. Richards eyes, but she didn't care enough about the community to question, "why would anyone give up a park, to build another park?" Once again, another Paul Richards action that is having to be cleaned up now that he is gone. And now Rachel doesn't even care that all of these residents have lost their homes and their businesses, because they no longer count as a vote that she needs to get re-elected. I wonder why she didn't care about putting a school, junior high or high school in the southeast section of the city? Does Rachel have kids or grandkids in the district? She looks like her own children would be at least in their late 40's. Sorry Rachel, but education has changed since you drove your kids to school in your horse and buggy!

To the person who said the deal was made by mr.richards needs to check his facts. the deal was made by pedroza and domitila just ask the seniors who lost the bowling alley to a developer thats were the senior center was to go. all the back door deals that were made were not made to benfit the citizens of lynwood. mr. rodriguez
was on the council he new what was going on. and now he wants to run for office so he wants people to believe that his hands are clean.
mrs. chavez hands are not clean ether should have be looking out for the community not let some kid make deals with pedroza because they both did us in. were was their head at when they put a school across from a motel.

To all bloggers, I thought when city government or all governments hire CONSULTANTS is to use their experiance to make the deals and forsee any changes in the Real Estate Market, but it seems that the Consultants are as ingnorants as the City leadership that is why Lynwood is in this mess.
They miscalculated by 13.6 MILLION and who knows how much more money is going to take to build the park.
La verdad duele pero incomoda, mas les vale que pidan de rodillas los Cinco Cosejales alcabo tienen experiecia y no lo dogo por las feminas solamente.
Al menos Raquel tubo los tamanos para decirselos.

To to the comment at 3:35 on Oct. 20. As a former employee in the City Managers Office, I can tell you that Paul Richards orchestrated the entire deal. Ramon and Fernando were just silly pawns in Paul's game. Why do you think Paul put Lorry in as City Manager right before the check was handed over to the city. Why do you think Paul re-assigned the responsibility of the new park. Why do you think we hired the consultant that Lorry recommended instead of the more experienced. No my friend, I believe it is you that is confused with your facts. And for the other blogger on this post, a 13 million dollar miscalculation is not that far off. Consider your own property and figure out what it was worth 3 or 4 years ago when the deal was being structured. Calculate what your property is worth now. Haven't you been paying attention to the real estate market? Consider the church that had to be purchased, all of the residential, the businesses and all of the money that all of the property owners and renters were paid to move. Mr. Martinez made a very wise point in his response. One mistake that was made in the deal was eliminating a condition for the rise in the property values. But you see, Paul Richards never intended on rebuilding the park. He had other plans for that money!

Why didn't you report this to the authorities? If you know this information to be a fact report it ASAP for the sake of the community.

city manager needs to go

Didn't Maria tell the lady from the Sun that she shouldn't go with attitude when she was asking for help for the chamber. Maria should talk to the city manager since she has him so far up her lipoed but. I hope the district doesn't help them do anything. Let's see what a bad ass the city manager will be then.

Check your spelling it's "butt".

Here's my opinion. Great Grandma needs to wake up and realize what she's done.

It's best that the council and district get along because if they don't, the community will suffer.

When staff went to the district they went to give a presentation. Everyone on the district, with the exception of Rachel Chavez had already heard the presenation more than once.

Rachel didn't want to meet with any members of the council, therefore out of respect the presentation was really for her. Instead, she almost had a nervous breakdown.

I as a Lynwood resident with small children that play at our only park, would like to see another park built with a softball and soccer field. I hope this outbreak by the senior school board member doesn't jeopordize the opportunity we have or had.

Last year the issue about Ham PArk came up. I remember Aide Castro telling the council that if they didn't hurry up they were going to be short. Then I read this article. Up tp now I really felt the little girl was just a loud mouth. Go to archives dated 05/01/2005 under the commissioner bid for council. You can read all the comments were she points out all of these problems to another blogger. It's very interesting. I recommend everyone reads it. Have fun cuz you will get a laugh out of this one.

Anonymous said...

By last year everyone knew they were going to be short, duh! That's a "no brainer". The problem began when staff failed to negotiate an inflation and missed other important issues (like three families in one single family home.

I still think she's an imature loud mouth.

Anonymous said...

I don't know where you've been, but Aide started pointing this out immediately. Instead of realizing and accepting she was right, you should be asking why your council at that time didn't listen to her. Oh wait Maria and Ramon are perfect I forgot.

Anonymous said...

Shoot..........She did warn us. Why did the council ignore her. It looks like she's not even blaming the council. She's blaming that Luis guy. Does anyone have any more info.

They found out last year because Aide brought to their attention. When they figured out her platform was based on issues of redevelopement they finally decided to fire Morales. They had the city manager do it for them since they didn't have the guts to do it. Like it or not Aide told us about this a long time ago.

Oh wait correction Morales left, because his buddies Fernando Maria and Ramon got him another job with Argumedo. (Either way they new they were caught) Morales was given the option to leave of be fired.

We sit here represented by a man who in the last three cities he has worked form was accused of sexual harrassment, (Bell Gardens, Palm Beach Gardens,Fl and Pasadena. In Palm Beach Gardens he was forced to resign , in Pasadena, Carolyn Gray was moved to another office so she would drop her charge. THIS is the character of the man who is our City Manager? This is the man we send out to make statements like "Things have changed here in the last 18 months since I was hired." Hogwash. Would you want YOUR daughter working around this man? Me either.

Anonymous said...

Hey didn't Aide also tells us about the city manager not being who he claimed to be.

2 Points for the loud mouth Aide
0 for her haters

Loud mouth for council yeeeaaaahhh!

In other news, the FPPC is reporting that, Armando Rea, California Citizens for Good Government, and Sylvia Herron, FPPC No. 02/426. Respondent Armando Rea was a Lynwood City Councilman who unsuccessfully ran for re-election in 2001. Respondent California Citizens for Good Government was his controlled committee, and Respondent Sylvia Herron served as treasurer. Respondents failed to file a pre-election campaign statement, in violation of Government Code section 84200.5, subdivision (c) (2 counts), and failed to disclose three late contributions in properly filed late contribution reports, in violation of Government Code section 84203, subdivisions (a) and (b) (1 count). $9,500 fine.

Nothing new. The FPPC is also looking at Maria, Leticia, and Byrd.

Anonymous said...

Rea's court date was postponed until October 30th. Be there!!! This old man's criminal behavior is all catching up to him. Finally! I wonder where he got the $9,500 to pay the fine. Probably Mark Kudler, Billy Martinez and Emilio Franco.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Byrd was already fined once. Once the FPPC looks at anyone's campaign statements, chances are they will find something wrong.

The City Clerk is not much help when it comes to campaign reporting. She gives out the wrong information. She's been fined before, how can she still be our City Clerk?

We need to support the lady that ran against her in the last election. Can anyone tell me what her name is???

Anonymous said...

Maria Quinones is her name. But Andrea is not running anymore she's retiring. If you see her make sure to tell her she better retire and not change her mind at the last minute.

Anonymous said...

And why cannot the City Clerk change her mind and run next time? Is it because the latino/a's want all the positions in Lynwoodo? It won't be long til you are living in the same place you "tried" to move away from.

Anonymous said...

That's right. It's a latino/a thing only! Every one else should move out of Lynwood. And anyone who does not support this agenda like Mayor Vasquez will be gone!!!!!!!

Sylvia Ortez, your initials are'nt SO por nada. I do hope you jest.

Anonymous said...

What does that mean? Jest about what?

Anonymous said...

The "hope you jest" is in referance to the "everyone else should move out of Lynwood" comment. I still hope she jests, it's that kind of comment that separates us, and I do not mean ethnically, I mean Good from Evil.

Anonymous said...

Understood...You make a good point. I can assure you it's not a latino thing. Andrea Hooper has not been doing her job properly for years. Laws are changed every day and she's still doing things like back in the days. She's not willing to change we need new blood ib their. Black or Brown as long as it is someone new who is willing to stay updated on any changes made in the law and doesn't cover up for corrupt council members.

CHECK YOURSELF ORTIZ!!
YOU SOUND LIKE A RACIST.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD MOVE OUT OF LYNWOOD?

CHECK YOURSELF LADY....

LET'S NOT GO THERE....

Anonymous said...

True girl don't make us seem like were all a bunch of racist. That is not the message we want to send. I have respected your opinions up till now.

Check Yourself!

Leave Ham Park the way it is now. I think there is only money for tearing down the property and leaving dirt behind. Kids will still play in it.

I kind of like it myself.
