I couldn't believe the non-sense I heard last night about the prominade project. Are they in fantasy land. What is rally going on here. What was even funnier were Aide's stupid comments. We need to push the recall drop this project and Aide like a bad habit.

Black??
I thought color did not matter.

As Dr. Martin L. King said.

...judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

I for one agree with the dumping of Beltran.

I hope this dude does a better job, obeys the lay and charges less than $1.3 million a year Arnoldo "Billtran"

I have talked to people that are informed about the proposed development here in Lynwood (Never mind the politiquillos that were spreading fear to get elected) and have yet to come across someone who is against the project.

Big surprise! Duh,,,all this was decided weeks ago. The council needs money to fight the recall. Imperial partners got the money. But, we have the vote. Vote yes on the recall!!!!

I heard and then seen some of what was happenning on Channel 34 and it is disgusting what is going on in your city.
Another Chavez Ravine? Taking all those homes and schools. And they think there is overcrowding now?

Hopefully, you residents can get together and put in a referendum.

Football stadiums lose money.

If their was anything incorrect in that story post it please.

Good Luck.

Hey Miguel:

Just because someone Black was hired you say that the race card was played. It sounds like you are the one playing the "Race Card". You accuse the council of playing the race card but what proof do you have.

When is the last time there was a Black City Attorney in Lynwood?

People like you won't be happy unless and until all Blacks are out of Lynwood.

You say: "It's funny that when we do it, we are Racists..." Are you admitting that you play the Race Card? Are you admitting that you hire Mexicans over Blacks just because they are Mexican? That is what it sounds like you are saying to me.

I agree with this project I lived there for 10 years and this part of town is trash! this project will revitalize this area and will not remove families like the other part previously selected because here we are sorrounded by blighted factories AND NOT HOMES....WE SUPPORT THIS PROJECT!

This attorney has two months to prove himself.

Yes, the council will get money from the new attorney firm, the Chamber of Commerce and the Lynwood Promenade.

Did anyone notice Aide Castro's comments. Is she really with the people that are affected? I am begining to doubt...

This is not a good thing for Lynwood. I agree that we need more shopping, entertainment and tax revenue in our city. I get tired of driving to Downey and Lakewood whenever I need to fill one of those needs. There are not many things to do at night and have to drive to Long Beach or Los Angeles. We do need a project similar to this in Lynwood but not at the expense of schools, thousands of homes, and our trust.

I don't like the way things were done to get this project going. From the beginning, rumors of corruption and back door deals surfaced. These kind of things need to be done with integrity and with the community in mind. There must have been some benefits for the voting council members to go ahead with a project the community is against. Whoever says there is a majority of people who support the project is lying. Everyone I've spoken with doesn't want the project and these are people who don't live in the affected area. People need to think 10-20 years in the future and decide if this will benefit our community. We have council members who have lost the trust of the community. I don't believe this is the only way Lynwood can achieve prosperity. We can’t even complete the construction of a park.

And anything the developer Mr. Johnson says can't be trusted. He is a businessman and is only worried how much money this is going to make. If I were him, I would say similar postivie things about the project. Now that the recall election is happening, the council members have concluded to screw the community and make something out of the little time they have left. At least Letecia Vasquez finally decided to vote NO but that should have been done since the beginning. Her vote doesn't really matter anymore. It's a gamble for them because the recall election might not get enough votes and they will be on top.

EVERYONE HAS TO VOTE AND GET THEIR VOICE HEARD!!!!!

Cuidense

WHEN WILL AUTRA ADAMS BE FIRED AS THE RECREATION DIRECTOR, THIS WOMAN HAS ZERO EXPERIENCE, AND ALLOWS FOR PHYILLS COOPER AND LORENE REED TO RUN THE ENTIRE DEPARTMENT. WE THE RESIDENTS OF THIS CITY NEED SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY SHOWS UP TO OUR RECREATION EVENTS AND DOES NOT LET IDIPTS LIKE PHYILLS GET AWAY WITH MURDER.

If you have lived here for 10 years,,that's not long enough to have a opinion. You don't know the history of Lynwood!!!!!

I hate people who mis-quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in order to prove their point. These are usually the same people that want to get rid of the holiday that honors him.

You sound stupid when you mis-quote Dr. King.

hellooooooooo but did't we had a great city manager Ralph Davis .. he was grat!!!!! much better than the mexican one faustin gonzalez

Do the math,,,,,the recall election will suceed. It's impossible to win a recall election especially when you have so many running. The yes on recall vote will outnumber the no's.

The auditors are back! Give these dudes some ammo so they can get to the crooks! They say there's this one black guy there who is digging and getting nowhere fast. How funny! It's right under thier noses too.

Former Newark mayor pleads not guilty to corruption charges!!!

Former Newark Mayor Sharpe James pleaded not guilty Monday to federal corruption charges that he courted women using city money and engaged in property fraud.
James, 71, is accused of charging more than $58,000 on city-issued credit cards for trips for himself and several female companions, according to an indictment.

In recent years, he allegedly charged vacations to places such as Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and the Dominican Republic, where he attended major sporting events, test drove exotic cars and ate at fine restaurants.
"The allegations in this indictment are stark examples of the greed and arrogance of unchecked power," said U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie. "He chose to cheat the people of Newark and the citizens of New Jersey."

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR PORNOZA, JAILBYRD?

Aide Castro's house is no longer on the project map. I guess that's what she has been secretley discussing with Mcdonald. She'll end up being the agent who sells those overpriced house's back to the same people that trusted her.
