If this council really wants to right a wrong of the past council YOU MUST GET RID OF THIS TAX AND STOP COLLECTING IT. You are illiegally collecting this tax. I will make sure to tell the comminuty the truth. You said you would be different than the other council. You should stop taking trips and cut the Council's million dollar budget.

You got that right, I am a bitter tax payer. If I do anything illegal, I am required to pay back in some form or another. Why is it the city does not want to pay us back for thier error? Why should we pay the price for corruption in our city? Unless you lower the tax to 6%, I will not support it. Castro speaks of informing the city? The way she informed the city during her campaign? Full of lies and deception! All four of you got in those seats on the basis of the recall. And now you pupose to bullshit us into voting for 10%? How stupid do you think this community is? I've called the Davis group twice, and NO return phone call. Some public relations they've got.For anyone who would like to also call the Davis group and ask question...1562 987-1355. Call just to prove me right. They won't even call a resident/tax payer back. But I bet they're ready to cash that 75k check.Soon I will be at your doors and will show you proof how other cities don't have utility tax or have a low percentage. Or maybe you would like to check the Davis group web site. This will prove that they are a political consultant. www.davisgroupca.com The council made remarks that residents will spread false rumers. But they are the ones who are spreading and voting for a way to trick the community. Not as long as I'm around......

Crater face got it wrong again. She always quotes people wrong. What is her problem? Joaquin why don't you do us a favor and keep her busy. If you know what I mean. You were doing a good job of that for a while. What happened? The craters got to you?

The City will not stop collecting something it needs. If you thought you would run on this ticket, SORRY.

Sylvia get a job, do something. Maria and Aide, find her something to do. What about crossing guard? Or a janitor? Maybe she can even work in the summer program? Please find her something.

Only 3 people got quoted. The quotes were right on the money. Good job Maria and Aide.

The people of Lynwood need that money more than our city government does.

The council is doing exactly what Villaraigosa did to the City of Los Angeles. How come government isn't held accountable like a business would be? If you don't have the money you cut costs! You eliminate pork! It's that, simple. You make X amount so you can't spend more than X.

Thanks, but I don't need a job. But, if your brave enough to sign your name I could mop the floor with your face!!!!

Can someone stop Maria from this "march against the prostitues" idea.Everyone who is prostituing out on the street is strung out and is owned by thier pimp. The pimps are close by to collect the money as soon as it's made. The pimps are hard core killers and are all packing a gun. As well as the pimps are strung out too. Interupting thier business is very dangerous.I'm not condoning the behavior but,I'm smart enough to know that one doesn't provoke a pit bull. Our taxes pay for public safety.Make them do thier job. And would it be worth it? Prostition is a mistameaner, they will be out in 2 to 3 hours. That's why the sheriffs don't waste the time it takes to do the paperwork. Will the march give the prostitute refuge or another source of survival, Will the city provide a safe house for them or drug rehabilitation? The answer is NO. If you want these women to stop, then give them options, housing, drug rehab, and most important give them LOVE and understanding. Many of our community people have family members or friends that are out on the street. Or have spent time in prison. Of course no one would admit it. I believe everyone who is a long term resident does know what I'm talking about. Don't judge because you will also be judged.

The utility tax issue is not going to get support from the community unless it is lowered. Think about it,why would anyone vote for the same amount that we have been getting burned for? They're not! Unless the council lowers the percentage by at least 2%,no one will go for it.

How is it that other cities don't have a city utility tax? How did we survive in the 90's without the tax? Could someone inform me?

Where are the fattys? I luv the rash they have on the inner thighs.

Every city in California has a utility tax. Get your facts straight. What do you think we should do if we loose 6 million dollars? Not an easy answer is it?

If this council really wants to right a wrong of the past council YOU SHOULD GET RID OF THIS TAX AND STOP COLLECTING IT. You are illegally collecting this tax.
I pay alomost $100 total on this tax. I can better use it on paying for food and clothes for my kids. You already raised the water rates and the trash rates and the street sweeping rates. The city council should cut their traveling and their million dollar budget first. I will tell nuestra gente to vote no on the tax and no on the corruption at city hall. Why don't you tell parrot face Castro to pay back all the money she stole from the city.

For those of you that don't understand the UUT, come to one of the many presentations that City will have.

I also invite you to attend some of the budget meetings so that you can see how your money is spent.

And, please don't be like Mrs. Garcia that is forever complaining about cell phone charges and is one of the residents that is forever calling staff on their cell phones. (JD, DJ and council)

In the 90's we only had about 170-180 employees. Look how many we have now. The city manager told me that we have around 320 employees. CDBG has been funding the salaries of the senior center, the natatorium, and now CDBG funds will be used to pay salaries of the graffitti crew. Oh ya, the code inforcement has been getting funded by CDBG funds for decades. So if the general fund is relieved by CDBG funds, why is this city in trouble? Check your facts to the smartie that said all cities have a uut. Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Your people are suffering, stretch yourself and be a voice for the community. The people are bearly making it. It's getting to the point that we can't afford to live in Lynwood. There is over 75 residents who have no WATER. There is a list every Monday to shut off water. Sometimes I'm on it.I just realized that I have a leek on my water heater. The gas company told me to get a plumber. How in the F#$& am I going to
afford a plumber?And a permit? I can't so I will do what I have too.

Ms. Garcia is a mother of two murders. And one of her daughters is a lesbian prostitute. Poor kids never had a chance. I hear that Garcia use to lock her daughter HILDA in a closet. Consider the source, check your facts.Listen to a real long term resident and product of this city.

Vote No on the Utility User Tax and Yes on the Recall!

Who cares about your disappointment? And stop trying to fool the residents into thinking that you and Maria are united. Maria can't stand you and never will. Do you think she forgot the numerous lies you told about her? Mostly in the press and on T.V. You really live in a bubble if you think you have any support. Flores is even talking about you. Even you mom is talking about you at the shop. Shame, your the one disappointing everyone.I see you found a way that Reed could keep her private alley.Maybe she could help you in your recall like she helped Leticia.HA HA Ha.

Yes I am suggesting that the people who are wanting this march ARE people who have convicts and prostitues in thier own Families. And it's NOT because they live in Lynwood,it's because of poor parenting. Get a clue. Attacking and yelling at prostitues isn't going to change a thing. 90 percent of the prostitues on the streets are victoms of some sort of sexual child abuse. Prostitution is the END result of a sexual assult. So it is inhumane to attack victoms. The council are hipocrits. They all go to church, pray, and wear Rosary's around thier necks, claiming what? That they're Gods children? Well, those prostitutes are Gods children too. Why don't you offer resources? Is it because your trying to save face with voting residents? You officles are so self absorbed and live in a bubble. Get a clue!

I'm a home owner and a tax payer. My taxes pay for public safety. Make the sherriffs dept. do thier job. You name call but have no answers to the issue. Excuse me if I have compassion for ALL people. Apparently, you've lived a privledge life here in Lynwood. But, the majority of residents live a life that most could not socially except. Just to update you. We have 35 different gangs in this city. In the last year their have been 5 to 6 unsolved murders. One kid I know was shot on El Segundo about a month ago. He's at ST. Francis with a bullet in his head for no reason. He's not gang affilliated,he just happens to live on El Segundo. He's 16 years old and a student of LUSD. That shooting was a week after another young person was killed on Agnes. But we never hear about the crimes and the unsolved murders that go on in this city on a regular basis.Mothers are loosing thier children. But, I guess people don't care til it happens too YOU!!!!And prostition is the biggest problem? Get a clue,,,, Don't hate me because I am more in touch with Lynwood residents than YOU!!!!

If you All would just read the City Council Agenda will get the facts closer to the real deal.
Current Council Members have NOT slow dowm on traveling, NOR City's Department Heads.
In May most of them are going to Vegas and Palm Springs. My opinion on the 10% UUT=Utility Tax first City Council MUST FREEZ ALL Traveling at ALL lavels.
Audit and slow down purchasing to ALL departments.
Have city employees do the Jobs that are contracted-out by the Redevelopement Dep. & Public Works
and look very close at Electronoics purchasing b-4 end of Fiscal Year.
Contracting out Lynwood N Perspective printing work, up to $78,000.00 at year, if you want to know more ATTEND NEXT Council Meeting and ask questions that is if you really Care.
Most of the cities have reduced it's UUT to 5% and some to 8% like Norwalk.
We do need some Tax to remain for Public Safety.
The Graffiti Dep was just granted $30,000.00 more, just make sure you call N call N call the city graffiti crew to speed up the cleaning.

You say to ask questions at the council meetings? In case you havn't heard we have clueless council. I have more information and data on Lynwood in one pinkie finger. We have 2 kids on council that can't even wipe thier own ass yet. One council member that looks like he belongs to the wax museum, one member who can't remember to call a resident back, and a Mayor that has no REAL street smarts.(meaning this stupid walk against the prostitues?) These are the people who govern OUR city. HOW VERY SAD!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Hey Watch Dog...what $30,000 are you talking about that the graffiti crew is getting? If you are talking CDBG that is how most cities pay for graffiti....and the really smart cities contract out those services.

Anonymous said...

When is the first meeting regarding the UUT tax.I bet the city will only invite blockwatch.

To MAY 01 @8:34am. Please get your facts correct. In the last election, two cities lost their utility tax. And others have said no in the past. That's the fact Jack!

Anonymous said...

The other cities around us do not have a utilities tax on Cellphones because IT IS ILLEGAL!!! What is wrong with these city coucilmen - are they corrupt too - we just got rid of some of them & we sure don't want to go through that again so get rid of that tax!!!!
