What does "Vendetta" have to do with him taking money from the taxpayers. Regardless, he committed a crime!

Thank God for the Judge!

An important announcement for Lynwood citizens!!

First of all Happy New Year to all,
A Pay-to-Play is still going-on in Lynwood politics, contracting services, authorized via “Consent Calendar” without proper discussion should be an indication of backdoor deals.
When elected officials, don’t discuss anything in an open meeting that costs taxpayers lots of money in the hundreds of thousands is something residents should be concerned about.
Read the full agenda and then go to the meeting and see for yourself, next Tuesday 27, is a special meeting were the city manager is due for review another words his contract is up for renewal, possibly a pay increase as it is the city manager earns over 180k plus perks, such as 1000.00 at month for car allowance.
With the state in a 42 Billion in the whole, the country in deep recession, it will probably be a good idea to review those HIGH PAY salaries but let’s see what council members do in the meeting!

Paul Richards actually lived in Palos Verdes while he was Mayor of Lynwood. Those high rents can cause a lot of mind boggling changes to a person. The real question is why was he re-elected for so many years?

It's blog bias or what!,
have not published my comment.

Hey Lynwood Watch Dog

Get your facts straight. There is no consent calender this month. The CM is getting evaluated in closed session like all employee matters. In the past you sounded credible. So much for that!

Please read the comment, I said "Contracts get approved via Consent calendar", and also CM gets his review in close session.
BTW the CM issue was postponed, but the trash fee increase was aproved by RR, JM, MS.
Thanks for the increase city council members, I know your are in for Re-Election.
On top of the water rates increases voted by Maria T Santillan!!

Have a good day

If you don't know the CM has a four year contract, so his contract is not up. Like every city employee, he also needs to be evaluated.

I can't wait to remind residents how the Mayor continues to screww residents out of thier money. The Mayor doesn't give a shit our city (especially)is in a economic hell.A real leader would protect the residents from corruption. But not our city, everything goes.Other neighboring cities think of Lynwood and its city officials are a joke!Lynwood is used as a comparison of what could happen if corrupted canidates get into office. When was the last time Sanchez came to town with $$$$'s? Dela torre doesn't even send a field rep anymore. He's has also said many derogitory remarks about our city. I wish the state would come in and take over the city and the school district. We couldn't do any worse!!!!

I tend to agree with the previous poster. This mayor seems to be over her head in running this city. Streets are dirty unless it rains to clean the sidewalks.

The area the mayor lives in is even most of the year left unclean with trash, weeds, animals running loose etc.

New department stores go into other cities surrounding Lynwood but we seem content in having an excessive number of party shops and bakeries opening up in the city.

How we get leaders that are not corrupt I don't know. But we also cannot have people in charge that lack experience and lack leadership skills in running our city.

Paul Richards has been for a while now but what really has changed in Lynwood. There is still the pay to play stuff going on with Aide Castro and Billie Martinez. Also the amoumt of employees serving as directors and division managers without degrees has increased. These individual should not have their current post. We will put together a list in the next few days and post.

Why should the state take over the school district? What is wrong with the school district?

The way to keep out corruption is to not vote for voting blocks.Canidates should run independently.I want five individuals who think for themselves.Any Lynwood resident who lives in this nitemare makes him qualified to run this city.

A couple of things here....
1. I have kbown Armando Rea since 1990 and I know that he (and his family) have lived continuously in Lynwood since before 1989.
2. Since when does one need a degree to have a City job ?? Sounds like some sort of elitism to me !! What's wrong with blue-collar U., like Joe Sixpack. These guys with degrees cost the city too much, and they goof off (e.g. playing golf) too much at taxpayers' expence.
