Lynwood school board members prefer laying teachers off and giving political jobs to their friends like Aide Castro who has a criminal record. Those are their priorities. They should fire her and all the overpaid administrators and keep the teachers in the classroom where they are nedded!

Lynwood Unified School superintendant should take a pay cut from his $250,000 yearly salary-not LYNWOOD TEACHER!Shame on you-you do NOTHING board.

Yeah! why does Lal make 250 grand? for what? what does he do for our children? does anyone actually know? If he made 100,000 or 50,000 (that is much more than any of us ever made)... there would be no need to layoff the teachers who are actually teaching our children!!

Lal gets 250,000 and if they terminate him he gets 500,000. That was signed by school board. Then they hire Aide castro with criminal record who double dips city hall. Money wasted results in teacher layoffs of over 11%. Thank Lal for the poor planning.

I agree 12:02pm,
Aide Castro is not the only one with the criminal record, for instance, take the inconsequential scary looking female whom appears to favor a man in the front desk. Martha Martinez obtains a criminal record. These inconsiderate females are infesting our community. We dont need these type of rodents. Exterminate them once and for all. Save our teachers!

I am one of the teachers who was recently laid off- What I find really hard to undersstand is why we are not receiving any help or guidance from the district. Many teachers in my same position are asking about subbing- Do we automatically get on the sub pool? Can we at least count on that for next year? We are getting no answers, no support what so ever. This district doesn't care. It is very sad to be part of it. I can only hope they learn from their mistakes. Lynwood will lose many valuable people.

You folks are so ignorant!
Lal has implemented IB (International Baccalaureate) standards at one of the high schools, which is recognized by many Ivy League Institutions. (of course that probably doesn't resonate w/ you people). In addition, the initiative to have a computer in every classroom is paramount to being competitive in the 21st century; but again, many of you nay-sayers have complained about that time and time again. I suppose mediocrity (and small thinking) begets mediocrity!
How many new schools do you have since his arrival? You have FREE pre-K education, yet you folks want that done-away with. Rather than lambaste a man who has committed his entire life to the enrichment and success of children, maybe you should hold yourselves accountable for the lackluster performance of your students, and your children!
What has your community done for itself (ever)???????
