De quien seria el de la idea de poner esas plantas que se ven tremendamente feas? solo para gastar el dinero en cosas inutiles, lo deberian de usar para arreglar las calles de la ciudad

The station would look much better without those ugly weeds. I say get rid of them.

How about some of us from this blog get together and go clean up that excess vegitation at the fire station?

Anonymous said...

That sounds like a good idea. Set a date and time please.

Instead of talking shit do your homework. Those vines are to cover the block wall fence to prevent graffiti. Once the vines grow they will be trimmed. Maybe if we focus on our kids we wouldn't have to spend money to correct our kids mistakes. Bola de mensos.

Really,

How about we stop graffiti all together by severely punish any offenders?

So while we deter and eliminate public/private property vandilization, we can continue to beautify our city.

Idiota.

Is that Fernie a little bit upset becuse his damn weeds didn't work? The bottom line is the substation looks substandard with those vines. If you're idea is to have the wall covered, why don't you put a different vine?

Those vines have been there for over a year, and they don't grow. The picture speaks for itself.

So let's set up a date and meet up.

This is a good campaign opportunity for all those political wannabies. Show us some community outreach. How about donating some good creeping weed for the fire station?

I just got off the phone with the city manager.

I asked her if this brush was a part of the "Vine Program". She said "It was, years ago."

I told her well then, some budies of mine and myself are interested in showing up and actually cleaning it up.

She said they started cleaning it up last week. Supposudly she had pictures. I told her well, I drove by yesterday and the brush looks as it has for a while now.

She said she'd look into it.

Lies! The City Manager is a MAN!

And a little man at that.

Oops.

My mistake, it was the City Manager's assistant, a miss Debra Jackson.

And thats still what she said.

So this is coming form the office of the city manager that this is supposudly being taken care of.

I'm gonna go right now and take some pictures of the vegetation at the fire station. We'll compare with the photo posted in this post.

Just start calling the city manager's office and bug them over this. It's an eyesore regardless of whether its part of the "Vine Program." If they're gonna have the weeds growing to prevent graffiti, they should at least maintain it properly.

I would rather see some vines on a wall than some big gang name spray painted on the wall that the city takes forever to clean up. These guys do it to mark territory. TO HELL WITH THAT!! This is our territory, our Home!! While volunteering to clean it up sounds nice, how many of you are gonna do it every single time graffiti goes up?

We go back to the same thing, the problem is not removing the weed, but to replace it with something better, like Cerritos for example, in Cerritos, they use creeping fig. It's cleaner, it adheres to the wall, and looks a lot better.

Now, if all canidates really want to make it, they won't mind doing it for the remainder of the year, they are campaigning anyway...

Well, as far as graffiti prevention goes it is ineffective.

What I noticed when I went to take pictures, the grffiti instead of being on the wall, was on the sidewalk.

So if we're going to put up some sort of vegetation to prevent graffiti on walls, we should use something that the city can and will maintain and it wont grow into some hideious puff of grass on a wall.

Any ideas on preventing graffiti on the sidewalk floors next to walls covered with the grass?

Unfortunately unless we start catching the kids and making the parents responsible we will never stop the problem. But I will tell you that I rather see it on the floor than on a wall. You can't see the floor as you are driving by.

It's 9:00pm on Wednesday. Byrd's probably home laughing about the rumors that Armando Rea started about his arrest. Armando Rea alleges that his very reliable sources informed him that Byrd needed to resing by Tuesday, and turn himself in on Wednesday.
Nothing happened. Just like many times before, Armando Rea cries wolf.

Byrd should take legal action against this clown for stating rumors, and the FBI should question Armando Rea to find out who in their office is leaking information about the investigation in Lynwood. If in fact Armando Rea has FBI contacts who are keeping him abreast of the investigation, then what credibility can the FBI have? Can the FBI really jepeordize a whole investigation by giving vital information to an individual of questionable repute like Armando Rea?

All you do gooders, leave the Fire Station alone, it is leased to the County they and they alone are responsible for how it looks. And this is their choice.

Anonymous said...

I doubt that this is their choice, and please, for the record, we don't hate the fire station, before the city put the weeds, it was the best looking property in the neighborhood.
