This is no surprise to me,,,,,And don't forget Mark Flores fines for his part in this fiasco.Once again, corruption, corruption, corruption.I'd like to know how the Mayors supporters feel about paying her fines. She should have been recalled like the rest!!!!!!
Listen to what is being said, campaign reporting is very tricky. Reporting your expenditures is not enough, you have to report that what you spent on others is also your responsibility. How do you know what they reported?? Nothing was hidden....
If individuals like Sylvia and Armando try to use this as a means of attacking Maria and Ramon, they are way off base. It only proves that Sylvia and Armando are grasping at straws to trying to discredit others for honest mistakes. Can Sylvia and Armando truly claim that they have never made an honest mistake in their lives? I don't think so. We all make mistakes. We are all human. There is no such thing as a perfect individual. I seem to recall that Armando made a lot of mistakes while serving on Council. Did he learn nothing?? Come on Armando, your girlfriends sister put her gas on your credit card, she took trips to Hawaii, she falsified her time card, and you laughed at this the whole time.
Sylvia, you are an admitted juvenile felon, a welfare fraud recipient, an admitted felon, and a liar. You say you are sorry and that you have turned your gang banging lifestyle around. Should we forgive your imperfections simply because you have admitted to them?? You say you are sorry and you are a different person now. Are you so different, have you truly left it ALL behind?? No individual is truly perfect, and before you cast that stone, look truly into your black hearts and say that the two of you are so perfect now that you can cast that first stone! Armando, there are still residents in Lynwood that remember your Viking days in Lynwood, there are still those that remember your gun carrying days as a Mayor. Do we remember.....do we forgive...do we forget....????
We can't keep throwing out elected officials. We can screen candidates better before allowing anyone to run for positions in our city.
We need to require the following information, to be made public, prior to even being allowed to run for office.
Schools attended
Length of Lynwood residency
Work experience
Public service experience
Proof of residency
Proof of education
We need a series of public debates to assess qualifications.
We've had "educated thiefs" look at Paul Richards for example.
FPPC reporting is not easy. It's best to pay someone who can keep track of all the changes and make sure that reports are filed on time.
Even City Clerks can't answer these types of questions. Andrea Hooper who was the City Clerk for over 25 years was fined in January 2003 with 9 counts.
Well, we still need educated - experienced leaders or we will remain forever in this city that does not grow and lets crime happen.
We just have to stop letting individuals in office with so little scrutiny of their real background and qualifications...
When are you people start to face reallity. You never will have good people on your council. Just look at your city, nothing but ghetto people. Do you really expect decent leaders. What you have, is your peers.
Honest mistake? They just don't expecxt anyone to notice. These individuals are the same ones who worked hard to persecute past council members for the exact same wrong doings. They once use to be part of the solution, now they are the problem. What part are you???

Everbody knows that Silicone Santillan and her band of theives including Ramon Rodriguez have bled the city cofers dry! Recall Santillan now and say NO to corruption in Lynwood once and for all!
The facts are she LIED because she was trying to hide where her money comes from period! Her corrupt ways will catch up to her soon!
Honest mistake "my foot".
Being the mayor or council of a city you suppose to know all the in's and out's.
If you don't, you have no business in that position. What else don't these people know? This is scarry.
If I make a mistake at my job, involving that much money I get fired.

You are a serious kiss ass.
Just because it is not easy to fill out these reports, Santillan and Rodriguez should have paid even more attention, and put down the right information. All of this is just a bunch of crock. THE FACT IS; THEY TRIED TO HIDE SOMETHING AND GOT COUGHT.
The people of Lynwood know better.
Now, go whipe your tears.
What a shame... I knew Mark personally and he always seemed like a honest and upfront person... I don't live in the area anymore... but I know that this is all a mistake where Mark is involved. Again, he is a wonderful person.
Bring it on! That's all I have to say.
Sylvia is already trying to solicit funds from developers to go after Santillan. Sylvia is upset at Castro for not hiring her husband. Then she got mad at Santillan for not hiring her as a consultant to push the Tax (UUT).
Sylvia, get a job.
Boy, your really reaching! You are so far from the truth,I won't EVEN endulge you with the truth. At least be half right,,,,,,,,

I AM TIRED OF THOSE CORRUPT POLITICIANS FFFF EVERYONE FOR THEIR OWN GREEDS AND CONNECTIONS WITH DRUG DEalers!!!!
Let's see how the Mayor uses the death of an employee to gain voter support. I'm sure she'll run with it!She's a thief,a con artist, and pendeha.I guess her boyfriend was too busy sending X rated e-mails to x employees that he found it hard to count when preparing the Mayors financial reports. How embarrassing!!!!!!stupid woman who can't tell when her man is trying to ruin her.

Who is Sylvia Ortiz?
Campaign reporting is only tircky when you're trying to hide something though crafty wording. You can always find a way to justify it. It just doesn't make it right. Oh I'm sure the bigger ones have already been compensated.
Please notice that Maria Santillan bought clothes for a new year's party and then lied to FPPC saying that she bought clothes for the election campaign in November, 2005. The clothe were bought December 27, 2005, month and a half after the election. A thief is a thief and always will be a thief.
